How do I apply for an apprenticeship?

You can apply for an apprenticeship via the Rochdale Apprenticeships website by clicking the ‘Apply’ button and completing the basic application form.


What happens to my application after I have submitted it?

Your application is automatically sent to the Rochdale Apprenticeships website administration team within minutes of submission. Once received by the admin team they will then share your contact details with the training providers who offer apprenticeships in your area(s) of interest and / or with the training providers who are advertising the vacancies you have selected.


Am I applying for a live vacancy directly with the employer(s)?

No, you are registering an expression of interest for the vacancies you have selected. Training providers will then contact you to directly apply for the vacancy with the employer.


Who will I hear from once I have submitted my application?

Once you have submitted your application it is possible you will hear from any number of the following training providers listed below;

-       Hopwood Hall College

-       Interserve

-       KYP

-       Mantra Learning

-       Northern Apprenticeships

-       OTC Training

-       Oldham College

-       Rathbones

-       Rochdale Training

-       Skills Company


How will training providers contact me?

Training providers may contact you in various different ways such as via email, telephone, text, letter etc so please do check all forms of communication and respond to these as soon as possible in order for your application to be processed.


How soon should I expect to hear from training providers?

You should expect to hear from training providers no longer than 2 weeks after submitting your application. During busier periods there may be a slight delay on response. Please contact Toni Carter on toni.carter@rochdale.gov.uk if you have not had a response 2 weeks after submitting your application.


Can I apply for more than once vacancy?

Yes you can select as many vacancies as you like when applying via the website. Please select the tick boxes of all vacancies you are interested in applying for and submit this as one application rather than one vacancy per application.


Can I submit more than application?

We would recommend there is absolutely no need to submit more than one application. Once you have submitted an application you will be permanently registered on our and training provider systems. Training providers will contact you as soon as any vacancies come available that relate to your area(s) of interest. It helps us manage the administration much more efficiently if you only submit one application. If you happen to visit the website sometime after your initial application and see a NEW vacancy then please contact Toni Carter on toni.carter@rochdale.gov.uk with details on this.


Can I apply for a live vacancy if I am currently still in High School?

No you cannot apply for live vacancies if you are currently in school; this is because employers are looking to employ an apprentice as soon as possible. If you are applying from April / May onwards then you can select live vacancies as some employers will be willing to wait until you have left school in July to commence your apprenticeship.


How should I answer the ‘Are you currently in Year.11?’ question?

ONLY select ‘Yes’ is you are still attending High School on a daily basis. In the instance that you have sat all of your exams and left High School then please select ‘No’.
